The Camp Cart was created as a Wave Pool project with the help of the City of Cincinnati, the Camp Washington Community Board and the Camp Washington Urban Farm. It was fabricated by Skip Cullen and Matt Wiseman of Slapface with Abby Friend and Reliable Castings. The Camp Cart was built as a means to provide fresh produce from the Urban Farm to the residents of Camp Washington who reside in a food desert. The teardrop trailer opens to providing fresh produce along with make-it-take-it arts and crafts activities related of the food awareness and education. The project also aims to educate and raise food consciousness through a Food Mapping Method: a community based activity that creates art while mapping food sources and conversing with neighbors about the persosal health, community, economic, and ecological impacts of our food systems.
